Shadow Work
Shadow Work
Welcome or Welcome back to Amaya's Adventures! Today, we will be discussing shadow work. We will go over what it is, why it can be painful to do, as well as why it is beneficial. I will end off by giving you three shadow work prompts to do.
Shadow work is an introspective practice that allows you to dive deep into your traumas, triggers, and emotions that you may be aware or unaware of that are usually developed in childhood. Shadow work can be painful because it requires people to think about events from their life that were painful. Whether that be physically or emotionally. You have to face the things that you may have tried to bury deep in your mind. Possibly used drugs, alcohol, sleep, working, etc to get the situations out of your mind. However, do not run away from shadow work. It will only chase you until you are forced to do it. But, you do not have to do this alone! You can work with a therapist or an accountability partner that you trust deeply. When you do shadow work, you heal those negative thoughts, and behaviors, and open yourself to a happier life. You will start to attract better people and opportunities, and think more positively.
Below are some shadow prompts to start off with. See you all next post - Amaya's Adventures
1) Why do you allow people who do not acknowledge your feelings or treat you badly to stay in your life?
2) What is something that happened in your life that you werent happy about in the moment, but ended up being grateful for?
3) How emotionally available are you? How do you convey this availability?
