Welcome or welcome back to Amaya's Adventures! Today we will be talking about Vitamin D deficiency. It may not seem like a big problem, but being vitamin D deficient can be a big problem. As of 2018, 42% of Americans were said to be deficient. That is almost half of the country. Almost every 1 in 2 American. I would assume that due to COVID-19, the numbers may have increased. In this post, I will discuss what being vitamin D deficient looks like, why that is a problem, and how to get your D levels up.




What does Vitamin D deficiency look like?:
- prone to sickness
- constant fatigue
- hair loss
- bone pain
- anxiety/depression
-mood changes
- muscle aches

Why is vitamin D deficiency a major problem?:
When you are dealing with Vit. D deficiency for an extended period of time, you are prone to osteoporosis, depression, bone fractures, hair loss, and cardiovascular diseases. 

So, how do I get my Vit. D levels up?:
- 15-20 minutes of sunlight daily
- Vitamin D rich foods like oily fish and red meat
- high-quality Vit D supplements
- do not use TOO MUCH sunscreen
